IUB EEE Students wins as First Runners-up at 'RESEARCH REVEALS 2023: Research-Based Poster Presentation' on ICICT4SD 2023

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) is proud to announce the remarkable achievement of its students at the prestigious "RESEARCH REVEALS 2023: Research-Based Poster Presentation" organized by the IEEE Student Branch of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) on the occasion of "2nd International Conference on Information and Communication Technology for Sustainable Development, ICICT4SD2023 on 21st September." The bright minds of IUB emerged, securing the first runner-up position among 22 competing teams. 

Team "The Renewable Sparks," composed of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) students—Bushra Rahman, Tanzima Tahrin Khan, Khalid Mahmud, and Mahmud Sazzad Mohiuddin—distinguished themselves with their pioneering research project. Under the guidance of Dr. Khosru M. Salim, Professor of EEE at IUB, their research titled "Design and Construction of a Solar-Powered Hybrid System for Drying and Milling" showcased innovation at its finest.

This inter-university event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the 84 brightest minds from 6 prestigious universities across Bangladesh. With a prize pool of BDT 14,000, the competition was a testament to the exceptional talent, ingenuity, and dedication showcased by the participants.

The distinguished panel of judges, featuring luminaries such as Dr. Sarwar Hasan and Prof. Dr. Shahriar Khan, evaluated projects based on innovation, novelty, methodology, impact, and presentation quality criteria. Dr. Shahriar Khan, Colonel S M Sariful Islam, SUP, PSC honourable Chairman of the ICT department and Md. Maynul Islam, Assistant Professor, ICT department handed over the crest and certificate to the winners.
