The IUB EEE department’s Lecturer Mr. Emranul Haque and R&D officer Mr. Nazmus Sakib visited the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) on May 13, 2023. They provided training sessions on VNA (Vector Network Analyzer) and its application to the faculty members of BUET. Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) are employed for the evaluation of a diverse array of devices, encompassing simple 2-port passive devices like filters, as well as intricate subsystems comprising both passive and active components. Furthermore, the device being tested (referred to as the "device under test" or DUT) can exhibit various forms, ranging from connectors and packaged formats to on-wafer configurations and even encompassing raw materials and measurements of free-space antennas. Over the years, modern VNAs have evolved to cater to the expanding scope of applications, spanning domains such as aerospace/defense, astronomy, high-speed serial data, and homeland security. Around 20 participants, including professors and lecturers from the departments of EEE, BUET attended the training session. The training was successful and highly appreciated by the participants. This training was possible thanks to the support and guidance of Prof. Feroz Ahmed, Head Dept. of EEE, IUB.
